Trauma recovery

One of the biggest struggles for someone that has been traumatized is figuring out who they are. It is part of the process of healing to go back and identify those things that bring you passion and joy. one of the techniques I use with clients is to have them build a self discovery journal. This journal is not necessarily a place to wrote down things you are thinking (although some of that is important too) but a place to document things that bring you great joy. Looking through pictures in magazines and cutting out those things that make you say something like (Oh I just LOVE that) provides you a small idea of what is important to you.
