Therapist's friend

As a therapist that focuses on working with other therapists, I am acutely aware of the challenges we face within this current situation. We have the heart and commitment to help others stay calm and focus on good mental health.

But what about us?

The demand for your services is going to be higher than usual and we need to be prepared to be available.

How can we make sure we have what we need?

Well, we have all heard the advice of taking care of yourself first so you have left overs for others. This is true and necessary of course but difficult when balancing work, family, home duties , and generalized fear over things that are overwhelming.

We are human and need to remember that.

During this time is is so very important to listen to our bodies and stop pushing when our bodies tell us too.

  • take breaks

  • set time limits

  • don’t take on more than is healthy

  • learn what is reasonable for you

  • don’t compare yourself to others

  • leave time in your day for silence

  • take a shower or bath

  • drink plenty of water

  • Eat healthy

  • hug your loved ones

  • If you live alone make sure you connect with at least one other person every day

  • keep a spiritual practice going

  • Move your body at least once per day

If you need counseling to help with anxiety reduction, depression, support or others, do your due diligence and get some help.

You can not help if you are not healthy.

I focus on working with therapists.

If you need a hand, reach out
